Lockdown is made by Luke Withers, a sole trader based in Tasmania, Australia, publishing on Google Play as Kaizen Online Lifestyle ("we", "us"). These terms apply when you download or use the Lockdown app ("the app").
By using the app you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
Lockdown helps you understand the security of your Android phone. It scans installed apps against a list of known spyware and stalkerware, flags risky permissions and special access, checks your Wi-Fi and phone settings, alerts you when your camera or microphone turns on, and can inspect DNS lookups and block network traffic.
Being straight with you about its limits matters more to us than making it sound bigger than it is. Lockdown cannot:
A result such as "All clear" means Lockdown didn't find a known problem. It does not guarantee your phone is free of spyware.
If you are in immediate danger, call 000 (or your local emergency number).
If you think someone is monitoring your phone, be careful before removing anything. Removing stalkerware can alert the person who installed it and may make things more dangerous. Consider talking to a support service first. In Australia, 1800RESPECT (1800 737 732) is available 24/7.
Lockdown is a tool, not a substitute for advice from police, a domestic violence service, or a security professional.
Use Lockdown on your own phone, or on a phone you have clear permission to check. You must not use it to monitor, track or interfere with another person without their consent, or for anything unlawful.
Lockdown's features are designed to protect your own privacy, for example from theft or from someone who has installed monitoring software. Nothing in the app changes your legal obligations, including any lawful order to give authorities access to a device.
Some features, such as Lockdown Mode and Network Monitor, change how your phone connects to the internet. You're responsible for turning them off when you no longer want them on.
The core scan is free. Premium features are available by subscription, sold and billed through Google Play. The price is shown in your local currency in Google Play before you buy.
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law, or under the consumer protection laws of the country you live in, that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
If the app doesn't do what we said it would, tell us. We'll fix it, or refund you where the law requires.

Your scan results, app list and alerts stay on your phone. Our Privacy Policy explains exactly what little data leaves it, and why.
We update the app regularly, and features may change. We may also update these terms. When we do, we'll change the effective date at the top of this page and mention significant changes in the release notes on Google Play. If you keep using the app after a change, the updated terms apply.
